Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Outlier School("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit our website, create a free account, or use our community, courses, and resources (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

We collect the following, and only what we need to run the Service:

  • Account information — your name and email address when you sign up. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
  • Optional details — a phone number or any answers you choose to provide when joining.
  • Content you create — posts, comments, messages, and profile details you add inside the community.
  • Usage information — basic technical data such as your device, browser, and how you interact with the Service, used to keep it working and improve it.

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and give you access to the community and resources.
  • To communicate with you — for example, account and confirmation emails, replies, and updates about new content or resources. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed to do so. These include:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Google — sign-in (if you choose it).
  • Resend — sending our emails.
  • Stripe — payment processing, if you purchase a paid program. We never see or store your full card details.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.

Google user data

When you sign in with Google, we use the basic profile information Google provides (name, email, and profile picture) solely to create and identify your account. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use this data for advertising and do not share it with third parties except as described above.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use them for cross-site advertising.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see below).

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of marketing communications. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below and we'll respond promptly.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
